Kevin Strieter Airline Pilot

KEvin Strieter

Kevin Strieter is the co-host and producer of Let’s Talk Flying. He has always wanted to fly since he was a young boy with a toy airplane. Kevin, a former student of his co-host, has 2,500+ hours of flying spanning air tours over the beautiful northern Michigan shoreline, flight instructing, and as an airline pilot flying internationally. His experience includes work as a cross-functional station agent where he worked at the ticketing counter, in baggage and security, on the ramp, and as a supervisor. Kevin is the first person in his family to become a pilot, a life-long dream he worked three jobs to reach. Kevin’s flights have taken him across our nation and abroad, but his most memorable flight involves his beloved role model, his grandfather. On their way to a fly-in breakfast, his grandfather piloted the Piper Arrow and logged his first two hours flying. Kevin earned his aviation ratings from Northwestern Michigan College. He says that flying is “fun and exciting” because once “you leave the ground, you leave everything behind.” Outside of flying, Kevin, a cruise ship aficionado, volunteers as a radio host at Sun-N-Fun radio; loves remote control aviation; hikes and plays frisbee golf; and loves spending time with his daughter.

Robert Ericson Airline Captain and Line Check Airman

Rob Ericson

Rob Ericson is the co-host and producer for Let’s Talk Flying. He has accumulated 10,000 hours of time as flight instructor, charter pilot, and airline pilot in his 20 years of flying. Of all his experience, he says that teaching student pilots is his favorite. From flights over Lake Michigan’s Sleeping Bear Dunes to navigating over the Hudson River with the New York City skyline at the tips of his wings, Rob has been fascinated with flying since he was a young boy. His love of flying started in a Cessna 310 with his father. Rob earned a degree in Aviation from Northwestern Michigan College. He went on to manage a charter company flight school for eight years, instructing new pilots on single engine and instrument flying, and – ultimately – landing at an airline as a Line Check Pilot where he can draw on his passions for safety and training. “Teaching has been one of the ways I feel I truly make a difference in people’s lives,” he says. In his free time, you will catch Rob making fun of his co-host; volunteering at Sun ‘n Fun as a radio host and roving reporter; taking photos of sunsets, beaches, and airplanes; and gathering with friends on annual sea and ski plane weekends.
